DescriptionIn a suit between Edward Downes plaintiff and Edward Downes senior, Lawrence Downes, Margaret, Ellen (or Elianor) and Ann Downes infants by the said Edward Downes their father and guardian, Francis Lindly (or Lingley) Esq, George Biggot (or Piggot) Esq, Thomas Minshall (or Minshull) Gent, defendants, in an action to set aside a trust created in Shrigley Hall in Pot Shrigley [Pott Shrigley] and copyhold lands in Pot Shrigley [Pott Shrigley], Bollington, Hurdsfield and Ranow [Rainow], and the manor of Worth, Worth Hall and the manor of Nether Padley, by a covenant to Surrender to Uses 28 May 1685 in pursuance of Lease and Release 13 and 14 February 1685; the trust to be set aside in order to fulfil terms of a Contract of Marriage 1 April 1689 between Plaintiff who brings Bill and action and 2. Robert and Benjamin Ashton for Sarah Ashton.
