Macclesfeild [Macclesfield] Burrough in the County of Chester

IP This is to Certifye whom it may concerne That EDWARD DOWNES THE YOUNGER OF/ SHERIGLEY IN THE COUNTY OF CHESTER, GEN is a Burgess and Freeman of the/ Burrough of Macclesfeild aforesaid And that by the Ancient Charters and/ priviledges of the said Burrough all the Burgesses and Freemen of the same/ are to be quitt and Free from the payment of Tolls Stallage Pickage or the/ like Dutyes in all places whatsoever within the County Pallatine of Chester/ (except onely Salt in the Wiches) In Witness whereof the Common Seal of the/ said Burrough is herevnto affixed. Dated att Macclesfeild aforesaid the/ Nineteenth day of Aprill Anno Domini 1690.

Physical DescriptionParchment: 1 membrane 7¾" wide by 3½", seal label 5½" long through turn-up. Seal missing from label, trace of orange pink wax.
