Dear Madm,
You were very kind in writeing to me by your Man I'm sure it was more then I deserved, I was very sorry to hear you were so much out of order. I'm concern'd we can't stay in Town to receive your commands about your Gown, but I have had A return of my old disorder for which I'm obliged to go to Bath, and it being pretty far advanced in the Season it makes us in great hast to begone, Sister Siby will have me observe ruls and is so good as to go along with me. we could not get your things done sooner ten to be sent this week in which time I hope they will be all ready, we are Promised so, but if they don't preform we have spoke to a friend to put them up her self, and send them down, we have order every thing, and I hope you'll aprove of what we have done, as to your Lace it's not to be cut, but dress'dup in two Caps which is what they very oft do, therefore Since that will be but A smale expence we have order one to be dress'd with white Ribin, a Breast knot, & Clove Strings, by which you may tye up the rest they are very much wore, both in A dress and undress, we have sent you an Indian Fan, which Cost five shillings, as only one of your set of sticks was worth Mounting. Mrs E. Downes, Fan cost two Shillings, the Ribon sent by your Man came to five Shillings & three pence. The Mounting of your Fan comes to two Shillings Mrs E Downes desired to know what dress was most wore for her, which is with A Gown & Coat, tyed down Night cloths, & Long hood, in A nightgown double Mobs & Short hood, Lace is wore on Allamode hoods, and Set Buckels more then ever, only very Lardge. no Rumps too hoops we have not sent any paded cap for they are not Wore with anything but A English head, and then Lardge. I don't remember any thing more you desired to know, I have been very little out therefore have not got any news, the Town has been very dul this Winter no singers worth going to hear we set out for Bath on Thursday next which makes us in a great hurry, and I hope will excuse for this sad scrawl, when we come back which I hope will be in a Monnth or Six weeks time, what ever you want that we can serve you in I hope you'll command her who is
