TitleCamp before Sebastopol
Date29 June 1855
Description "We are going on doing the same thing here as we have been about for nearly 10 months which consists in being up all night and working all day, making batteries and works." "I and two others are the only remaining three left of the whole lot of officers that you saw start from Manchester barracks. Wine of the poor fellows have been killed and all the rest wounded and gone home, or else knocked up by the climate which few can stand. Poor Lord Raglan died this morning knocked up partly by air failure when we assaulted Sebastopol on the 18th June. "Cavalry and artillery now re-equipped with fresh horses and looking "quite splendid".
