TitleVouchers to account
Date1714-1899
DescriptionThe vouchers are generally arranged by ordinary and extraordinary expenditure; there is also often a voucher for the costs of the annual audit. The voucher for 1714 is a chance survival; the main series begins in 1763-4. In the 19th century the antiquary Thomas Hughes borrowed a number of these vouchers which later passed into the care of the Chester Archaeological Society, before transfer to the Record Office to be added to the archives of the Dean and Chapter. These latter are listed as Vouchers to account: 2nd series (ref EDD 4197/4-36)
