| Description | The contents of each file are described briefly below. There are 11 files, ranging from 1566 to 1678.
Some relate wholly or partly to Private Sessions (QJX 1/1-4, QJX 3/3) which were held in Cheshire from time to time, usually to deal with cases of riot and/or forcible entry. Records of, or references to, Private Sessions can also be found in the QJB and QJE series.
Others in this "miscellaneous" group comprise files or rolls of indictments and/or recognizances (QJX 2/1-3, QJX 3/1) which, generally speaking, overlap with records in the QJB series. One is a collection specifically of "Informations" (QJX 3/2) and two appear to contain mainly strays from the QJF sessions files series (QJX 3/3,4) |
