The collection includes Acts concerning the navigation and conservation of the river Dee, 1700-1889; Acts to build additional bridges over the river Dee, 1825-94; an Act about the navigation of the Chester Canal, 1796; local railway Acts, 1837-1926; local cemetery Acts, 1848-1932; Acts concerning roads, 1829-54; water supplies, 1826-1944; gas supplies, 1858-1922; electric lighting, 1890; tramways, 1878-1901 and 'buses, 1929. Acts of 1762 and 1803 for inter alia regulating the poor and maintaining nightwatchmen and the Chester Improvement Acts of 1845 and 1884 are also in the collection. |
