| Description | Affidavits were sworn before the clerk of the pentice by plaintiffs in actions in the pentice and portmote courts and relate mainly to pleas of debt. Thirteen separate files survive, although such affidavits are also found on the mayors' files (ZMF) and sheriffs' files (ZSF) from c.1706 to 1726 and after 1799.
