DescriptionThe Chester Labour party was formed following a meeting at the Oddfellows' Hall, Lower Bridge Street, in September 1918. Its first candidate stood at the general election later that year; its first member was elected to the City Council in 1919. The records include minutes, 1918-24 and 1954-71; minutes and an account book of Trinity Ward, 1926-64; and J. Ernest Jones' 'My experiences with the Clarion Women's van', (1896)
