DescriptionARTICLES OF AGREEMENT between Rt. Hon. Hugh Lord Viscount Cholmondeley and John Billings of Dodcott cum Wilslea [Dodcott cum Wilkesley], yeoman, whereby the said John Billings agrees to marl 2 pieces of of ground in LARTON [Larkton] demesnes, called the Flash field and Ridley Broome, with marl to be taken out of widow Downes' marl field, for which the said Lord Cholmondeley agrees to pay 40/- per rood of marl spread; the work is to be completed between 14 May and the beginning of September; the said John is to be allowed to grass the horses employed in the work in the flash field and Ridley Broome in one part, the widow Downes two Gritcha fields, thunderbag field and crab tree field in another part, and the high field, Barnefield, Lartonbank and Hankins gorse in another part, and if there is want of grass for the said horses during the said work he is to be allowed to grass the yard and cricketts crofts, cunny green field and such part of street field as shall be appointed - the said parcels to be fenced from one another before the work is begun and one parcel only to be grassed at a time; the said John Billings is to be furnished with a pump, 12 shod piles, a tub, a couple of mauls and a couple of kanns. Seal: Red, armorial, on a field ermine 3 lions passant guardant. Paper.
