DescriptionPRE-NUPTIAL SETTLEMENT (Draft) between 1) Sir Phillip Egerton of Oulton Kt., Dame Catherine, his wife, John Egerton esq., son and heir of the said Sir Phillip, Phillip Egerton esq., younger son of the said Sir Phillip, Thomas Cholmondley of Vale Royall esq., and Francis Cholmondley of the same esq. 2) the Rt. Hon. Hugh Lord Cholmondley Viscount Kells and the Hon. George Cholmondley of Cholmondley esq. 3) the Hon. Elizabeth Cholmondley, daughter of the Rt. Hon. Robert late Lord Cholmondley; reciting that in consideration of a marriage to be had between the said John Egerton and Elizabeth Cholmondley, and of £9,000, the 1st party covenants to levy a fine to the 2nd party, of the Manors of HEYWOOD BARNES [Hale Barns?], EGERTON, BICKERTON, OULTON, RYSHTON [Rushton], WRYNEHILL [Wrinehill] alias WRYNEFORD and EATON (reserving the Manors of NEWBOLD ASHBURY [Newbold Astbury] and MORETON and the messuages purchased by the said Sir Phillip Egerton from John Starkey esq, or his trustees and John Stringer esq), to make them tenants of the freehold in order that a Common Recovery may be suffered to the uses appointed.
