[1] Party 1, Richard, son of Richard de Lostok [Lostock], has given, granted and confirmed to party 2, William, son
[2] of Roger de Tofte [Toft], one piece of his land in the vill of Stubbis [Stublach] with its appurtenances within these boundaries ,to wit beginning at the corner
[3] of the ditch of the prior of Norton, then following the boundaries and boundary markers made there all the way up to against the fence of the same William de Tofte. To be had and held
[4] of Richard and his heirs to William and his heirs or assigns, freely and quietly, well and peaceably on all the common land and easements everywhere belonging to the vill
[5] of Stubbis [Stublach]. Rendering thereby annually to Richard and his heirs of William and his heirs or his assigns one
[6] silver penny at the Nativity of St. John the Baptist for every secular service and demand whatever. And Richard and his heirs
[7] will warrant the entire piece of land with its appurtenances, as is aforesaid, to the aforesaid William and his heirs or assigns against all men and women
[8] forever. For this gift and grant of Richard, the aforesaid William has given to him half of one piece of land
[9] between Oveneford and Honeford [Handforth] to build a mill between Richard and William on that site.
[11] Witnesses: Thomas de of Lostok' [Lostock], Robert de Wyninton [Winnington], Randulph de Horten [Horton], Randulph of Merton, Richard Starky, John de Merebury [Marbury],
[12] Hugh, his brother, Stephen 'the hunter', Robert de Holes [Hulse], Robert the clerk, and many others.
