DescriptionLetter from Mr Hadfield explaining that Sir Peter is returning to Knutsford once the business in London is complete and a horse and carriage has been purchased for his intended wedding, there is discussion of wedding presents and other arrangements, and the news that Lady Tweet has an ugly pain in her teeth and that Mr Parkers complete victory over the Curzon's has pleased Mr Hadfield. Letter from Mr W. Hadfield thanking Lord de Tabley for the appointment of him to the living of Witton. (2)
Letter from Elizabeth Russell, JFL's auntie regarding the death of Mr Hadfield and her wish that he should make Mr Russell his successor in the Church. (1)
Letter from Thomas Wyatt, agent to the late P. Dekin regarding the benefit of a particular policy not enclosed.
Letter from G. Stannley requesting due to the need to head out of town to delay waiting on him until Saturday 30th or any time that is convenient. Letter from Henry Porter in regard to Mr Tomkinson's request to be sent his accounts. There is a gap in his records due to the failure of Thomas Beckett to pass on his accounts for 1774-5 but he encloses all accounts including 1776 onwards.
Letter from Joshua Brookes stating that his man with three brace of deer set off on Sunday night and should be travelling about thirty miles a day but if he could send men and a fresh horse to Owsley Bridge it would quicken the journey.
Letter from Mrs Catherine Atkinson, Sir John Fleming Leicester's sister personal news such as Mr Atkinson has just sent home a pheasant which he has been fagging since 10 o'clock and her intention to send one up to Manchester, Henry's baby is not expected to live and Mrs L is very ill and she is looking forward to reading the result of 'the great studies for the great book.' Note from Sir Joshua Renelds questioning Sir John Fleming Leicesters valuation of a house as it requires some repair in order to settle the business Sir Joshua is willing to offer Sir John 1000 guineas for the house and furniture.

Letter from Catherine Atkinson, Sir John Fleming Leicester's sister asking if he has a house in town this winter, they have not contacted each other in some time, if she knew where he was she would send him a brace of pheasants, they are within six miles of the seat of the Marquis of Buckingham where there is plenty of game along with other general news and pleasantries.
Letter of reference from Nathan Milne 'for the bearer' stating he has been a farmer for him for the last twelve years and is of sound character.
