TitleLetter from R.a Starkey to Peter Leycester the younger, giving his opinion that the H ield land was part of the common of Aston and that any person by the assent of the chief lord of Aston might erect a cottage there having 4 acres of land, but in Peter Leycester’s case there was not this amount of land and the cottage was liable to forfeiture, if not pulled down. The original grant of the manor of Aston carried with it common pasture, could not be extended to deprive other messuages of their common pasture.
