Pages 149-58. 11th Dec., 15[52]-1st Dec.,15[53] 57 ships. Names of pledges for payment. Includes places of abode of some merchants. Page 158v. Memo. that John Walley and Randle Maynwaringe, Muragers and the Queen's Customers within the City of Chester made their accounts of all their receipts and payments for the first year of Mary, on Friday after the Feast of St. Nicholas the Bishop (8th Dec.) [1553] before John Offley, merchant, Mayor, and his bretheren and Henry Hardware and William Balle, sheriffs. On the same day and year the same persons were chosen Muragers and the Queen's Cutomers before the Mayor, his bretheren and the Sheriffs. Pages 159-73. 23rd Dec. 1553-9th Dec., 1554. 89 ships. Page 173v. Memo. that John Walley and Randle Maynwaringe made their accounts for the second year of Philip and Mary on Friday after the Feast of St. Nicholas the Bishop (7th Dec.) [1554] before Fulke Dutton, draper, Mayor, his bretheren and Robert Amerye and John Couper, Sheriffs. All things allowed and disallowed there remained £3:15:4 'in the boxe'. They were chosen again for the following year. Pages 174-85. 21st Dec. 1554-22nd Nov., 1555. 70 ships. Page 185v. Memo. that John Walley and Randle Maynwaringe made their accounts on Friday after the Feast of St. Nicholas the Bishop (13th Dec.) [1555] before John Smyth, draper, Mayor, and his bretheren, Thomas Weddrall and John Ryce, Sheriffs. There remainded nothing in the box. Thomas Aldersaye and Thomas Smyth, Aldermen, were chosen Muragers and the King's and Queen's Customers within the City before the said Mayor, his bretheren and Sheriffs in the Common Hall. Pages 186-98v. 12th Dec.,1555-27th Nov.,1556. 84 ships. Page 198v. Memo. that Thomas Aldersay and Thomas Smyth made their accounts on Friday after the Feast of St. Nicholas the Bishop (10th Dec.) [1555] before John Webster, Mayor, and his bretheren, John Hankye and Thomas Belyn, Sheriffs. The City were indebted to the Muragers £10:10s. They were chosen again for the following year. Pages 199-202v. 3rd Dec.,1556-16th Feb.,1557 Incomplete year 28 ships.
